RPW Shockwave Therapy

Principal physio David Cooper has utilised Radial Pressure Shockwave therapy for a number of years now as a unique treatment option for a variety of conditions.

Shockwave therapy was originally used for kidney stones however at the time positive effects were found to be had in surrounding tissue. With similar calcifications often developing in chronic tendon conditions – the research started to expand to investigate further.

Currently there is a wide and growing body of evidence supporting the use of Shockwave therapy for a number of conditions including:

  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis Elbow/Golfers elbow
  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumpers knee)
  • Frozen Shoulder

Kinetics is proud to be associated with DJO, makers of custom designed braces for complex musculo-skeletal conditions.  Kinetics staff are expertly trained to measure and fit high-end custom braces and can make an application to ACC on your behalf for funding.
